I LOVED my days in the Florida weather but definitely missed home after my 4 year adventure. Currently, I am in my second year of graduate school at Rivier University in New Hampshire. I am pursuing my Masters of Education in School Counseling, to become a School Counselor at the elementary level. I have a true passion for working with children in an educator role and can’t wait to start this career full time next year.[/x_accordion_item][x_accordion_item title=”Where do you work?” open=”false”]After graduating with my Bachelor’s, I was hired as a Fundraising Specialist for AVON 39: The Walk to End Breast Cancer in Boston. I was so fortunate to work hands on with breast cancer patients and their families while watching thousands of participants raise millions of dollars and help end such a horrific disease. After a year in Boston, I knew my passion lay in the field of education and I decided to attend grad school to become a school counselor – something I had always wanted to pursue. I continued working from home for AVON 39 and then transitioned into a substitute teacher role and finally, as a paraprofessional working with special education children. Currently, I am finishing up my internship hours for my School Counseling degree as well as working as a Program Paraprofessional in the local elementary school. I have genuinely loved every job I’ve held, because they have never felt like “work”. Instead, they’ve felt like making a difference.[/x_accordion_item][x_accordion_item title=”Where do you live?” open=”false”]Previously, I lived in Tampa for 3 years while in college. Upon graduating, I moved back to Boston with my boyfriend Kyle for a year in a tiny 1 bedroom apartment just outside the city. We absolutely adored where we lived, and of course being together, but we both made the decision to go back to school to get our Masters. Financially, it made most sense for us to move back in with our parents in New Hampshire, which is where I currently live. While it was a difficult decision for us to leave our home, we now only live 8 minutes away and are saving a boat load of money, so it’s not so bad![/x_accordion_item][x_accordion_item title=”Love life?” open=”false”]I was fortunate enough to meet the love of my life, Kyle, in elementary school (yes, that long ago!). We become friends in middle school and had our “first kiss” in 8th grade while playing truth or dare (remember those days?). Fast forward to our junior year of college, and suddenly we just “clicked” and were inseparable from that point on. Since then, we’ve been together almost 4 years now. We recently got engaged in October 2016 and will be married in February 2018. I can’t wait![/x_accordion_item][x_accordion_item title=”Why did you start a blog?” open=”false”]I genuinely enjoy writing and always have. I also truly enjoy sharing moments and bits about my life for others to read. With all the negativity I’ve read out there about social media, I’ve always seen the good in it. It’s a place for me to share my photos, what adventure I’m about to go on next, or who I’m spending the weekend with. After years of following other bloggers and envying their ability to write, post, and share their stories, I finally had the courage to start up my own outlet of sharing and thus, Very Simple Matters was created. In other words, this blog serves to share life’s Very Simple Matters including trendy travel destinations, delicious iced coffee recipes, unique home decor, and popular beauty products, all in one place.[/x_accordion_item][/x_accordion][/cs_column][/cs_row][/cs_section][/cs_content]
