Happy Tuesday everyone! My life has been crazy lately between planning a wedding, moving, graduating, and job searching. This May, I am graduating with my Masters of Education in School Counseling and I could not be more excited or ready. I’ve been in graduate school full time for the past 2 years and I truly can’t believe how quickly it has flown by.
That being said, I am spending these next few months applying for school counseling positions for the 2017-2018 school year. It’s definitely a long process and since I primarily want to work at the elementary level, jobs are far and few between. So, I am taking every job posting seriously and applying right away.
I think being an elementary school counselor is tricky because there is usually only 1 or 2 per building, so a position becoming available in the area is scarce and you have to truly stand out to even be considered for an interview. With a new degree under my belt, I knew it was time to revamp my resume and make me shine in the education world.
After doing some research on Pinterest, Etsy, and Google, Resume By Nico finally captured my attention from the moment I opened the website. Without hesitation, I reached out to Nico via email and asked if she could take my plain, basic, non-creative resume to the next level.. and wow did she deliver!
Nico started Resume By Nico in 2012 and has since designed over 200 resumes and written more than 75 cover letters. The reason I chose Nico to revamp my credentials, is because her resume and cover letter services are extremely personal and customized. She did not just plug my information into a pre-made template. Instead, she carefully reviewed my pieces and created a design that fit my individual content and industry. She also has an incredibly quick turn-around time (sometimes less than a week depending on her schedule!) which was really helpful for me.
Not only does Nico provide quality resume/cover letter services, but she also designs flyers, social media graphics, websites, wedding invitations, and more. Most recently, Nico published her own 32 page eBook that contains step-by-step instructions on how to make your resume stand out and get an interview. Plus, the eBook also includes a $50 off coupon for a custom resume makeover (if you read it and still need help from her). The first 20 people will get $10 off the e-book with code VSMblog making it only $9.99 – trust me, it’s worth it!
My search for a school counseling position still continues, but I’m confident in the experience I’ve had and the portfolio I’ve put together. If you are looking to take your resume or cover letter to the next level, I highly recommend Resume By Nico. She has certainly proved herself to deliver quality work and I’m excited to share her business with all of you. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions you have! Have a great rest of the week!
